Theme: Tackling Climate Change Through Regenerative Farming and Research

The clamour for sustainably produced wines is getting ever louder from consumers around the world. Is it do-able and is it worth it? Aren’t we compromising on wine quality?

Hear from 3 pioneers in the industry about developments in sustainability in their respective areas. From plant pathology to regenerative agricultural practices to monitoring carbon emissions, there is much that can be done right now, and exciting developments to look out for. This will be an interactive forum for learning and debate, starting with a presentation by each speaker, with time for questions and discussion afterwards over a glass of sustainably produced wine.

The Agulhas Wine Triangle is characterised by extreme vineyards planted in the southern most ancient soils in the world. The wines are influenced by their proximity to the wild, cold oceans and tempering, cooling winds. The pioneering winemakers of the Agulhas Wine Triangle are the custodians of this special place and with this comes a responsibility to protect the environment and ecosystem in which they operate. This sustainable environment can only be achieved by collaboration. Taste a selection of elegant, site-driven wines from the Agulhas Wine Triangle and find out how these winemakers are working in partnership to form a powerful conservation narrative in their brand messaging. Winemakers in this area are collaborating to protect the ecosystem for winemaking to flourish and using their expertise to communicate about important social impact initiatives.
